JEF Bond 3000 contains a pink/red dye. We have received several complaints of the adhesive colour bleeding through or migrating through fabric after installation, becoming visible a few weeks later.

This issue has been most noticeable on white, cream, beige, light grey, and other light-coloured fabrics. For this reason, we do not recommend using JEF Bond 3000 on light-coloured fabrics or any material where staining or colour show-through would be unacceptable.

Although the risk is lower on darker fabrics, there is still a possibility that the adhesive dye may slightly alter the fabric colour, create visible staining, or become mildly noticeable depending on the fabric type, backing, adhesive coverage, and application conditions. Use on any fabric is therefore at the customer’s own risk.

For applications where colour bleed-through is a concern, we recommend Helmitin 4510 instead. Helmitin 4510 is a chemically identical adhesive without the pink dye, so dye-related colour migration is not an issue.
