Ethan Allen Reclining Wingback Chairs – A Timeless Revival

These classic Ethan Allen reclining wingback chairs, originally crafted in 1992 with top-grain leather, had stood the test of time—but even the finest materials eventually wear. The once-luxurious leather had become dry, flaking, and worn through in places, and years of use had subtly misshaped the reclining mechanisms.

Our meticulous restoration process included replacing worn arm foam, wrapping all foam in fresh terylene for enhanced comfort, and carefully straightening the reclining mechanisms to restore smooth function. We preserved the chairs’ timeless elegance by reupholstering them in a premium material and accenting them with new decorative nails that stayed true to the original design. To complete the transformation, we refinished the legs in a sophisticated ‘weathered grey’ stain with a protective polyurethane finish.
