19th-Century Revival: A Dining Chair Reinvented with Cowhide
Project type
Residential Upholstery
Date
February 2025
Location
Lethbridge, Alberta
This 19th-century dining chair had a solid foundation but required extensive frame repairs before its transformation could begin. With nearly every clamp in our shop holding it together, we meticulously restored its structure, reinforcing the frame for long-term durability. The interior was entirely rebuilt—new webbing, foam, edging, and terylene ensured both comfort and longevity. Finally, a striking cowhide upholstery completed the revival, blending antique craftsmanship with rustic charm. Now, this historic piece is not just restored but reimagined, ready to make a bold statement for years to come.
